The MiniLED series, from LG, is REALLY bright but that’s not a bad thing.
This TV, as the name of the series indicates, utilizes the new fad in TV technologies: MiniLEDs. The promise of MiniLED is to bring the same black levels as OLED, while staying as bright as a traditional LED TV.
Background
My model is the 2021 QNED 90 Series 4K at 65 inches.
The 2021 model was more economically priced vs the 2022 model at the time of purchase.
The 65 inch size was the largest size that could fit above the mantel of my fireplace.
I’ve had this set for about 8 months now.

Standard LED TVs have always fallen short of OLED TVs (which has been the gold standard of TVs for the last few years) in one particular category: Black levels. This means how dark the screen looks when there is a dark scene.
MiniLED solves that shortcoming by increasing the number of LEDs in the TV to give more fine grained controls of what areas of the TV the LEDs light up.

This TV is bright! We have a relatively bright living room, but I had to adjust the settings within the TV options because it was too bright.
After some adjusting though, we’ve found the right balance for our living room setup.

Yes, I did just make up a word to describe how I hang a TV on the wall :)
This was actually the most important characteristic for our living room. As I mentioned before our TV is hung above the fireplace mantel, and it is a very specific size.
OLED TVs, because they are so thin, often times have their mounting points near the bottom of the TV. The MiniLED however has the mounting points centered. This allowed us to be able to hang the TV with a standard mount.
Verdict
This TV is perfect for a bright room, and if you have a tight space to wall mount the TV this is the one to go with! The black levels are on par with an OLED, without the drawbacks of burnin and dimmer panels.
