Beats Fit Pro

2 Minute Review

These are far and above the best wireless earbuds that I’ve tried!

  • The wingtip design fits snuggly and comfortably when you’re working out, and the in-ear design means you don’t need to use the wingtip when you don’t need as snug of a fit.

  • Active Noise Cancellation (and transparency mode) are a game changer for in-ear headphones and is what keeps me continuing to grab these headphones!

  • The case is the only shortcoming on these headphones. It’s a bit bulkier than other in-ear headphones, doesn’t have wireless charging, and feels a bit flimsy.

Background

There are a handful of colors to choose from, but I stayed the least flashy and picked up the standard black color-way.

Review

    • For a while now Beats have been able to redefine what they offer. In the past it was heavy base and a recognizable (and sometimes flashy brand. Today they have pivoted to a well balanced and great sounding pair of headphones and muted some of the more flashy brand characteristics.

      • These Beats Fit Pro are a great example of these changes - the headphones are not overly base heavy and sound great.

      • Particularly with the black color-way I mentioned above, these have a really understated design and branding that I really enjoy.

    • These headphones are marketed for workout headphones, and as such have what you would expect in water-proofing at IPX4 rating.

    • Apple’s H1 chip in these headphones make using them very enjoyable with other Apple Products. However unlike Airpods (and Airpods Pro) these headphones come with a Beats Companion app which means using these headphones with an Android phone is still an enjoyable experience.

    • These headphones are rated for up to 6 hours with ANC/Transparency On (24 hours with charging case); Up to 7 hours in Adaptive EQ with ANC/Transparency Off (30 hours with charging case)

    • I almost exclusively use these headphones with ANC or Transparency mode turned on (I’ll talk more on that in the next section), and I’ve gotten a pretty similar batter life than what is reported - perhaps a little less than on the total time with the charging case.

    • This should be a required feature for all truly wireless headphones. It has changed when and how I use these headphones.

    • ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is the best I’ve tested for in-ear style headphones - and a game changer for wearing at the gym. Although if you’re looking for the best ANC, you’re still going to want to turn to the over the ear Sony WH-1000XM4 (review for these coming soon!).

    • Transparency mode is really what shines the most on these headphones. I’ve, in the past, not liked to use in-ear style headphones for long phone calls (or video calls) because they can make your ears feel a clogged and end up making your voice sound a bit unnatural to yourself. I keep coming back to use these headphones for taking calls because with transparency mode that clogged feeling is gone, and you can hear yourself talk as if you weren’t wearing headphones at all.

Verdict

These headphones are a bit on the more expensive side, but are well worth it. They deliver on battery life, comfort, and functionality. I'd highly recommend these headphones to anyone that is looking for some truly wireless headphones
