Pixel event 2023: Google's latest and greatest revealed

Google's Made by Google event is always a big one, and this year's was no exception. The company unveiled its latest and greatest hardware and software, including the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel Watch 2, and new AI features.

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are Google's flagship smartphones for 2023. They feature new designs, a new Tensor 2 chip, and improved cameras.

The Pixel 8 has a smaller 6.16-inch display than last year's model, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a larger 6.7-inch display.

The new Tensor 3 chip is Google's own custom chip designed specifically for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. It promises improved performance and efficiency, as well as new AI capabilities.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have the same camera system as last year's models, but with some software improvements. The main camera is a 50MP sensor with OIS, while the ultrawide camera is a 12MP sensor. The Pixel 8 Pro also has a 48MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

Pixel Watch 2

The Pixel Watch 2 is Google's second-generation smartwatch. It has a new processor and improved battery life.

The Pixel Watch 2 runs on Google's Wear OS platform. It has a variety of health and fitness tracking features, as well as notifications, music playback, and other features.

New AI features

Google also announced a number of new AI features at the Made by Google event, including:

  • On-device generative AI: The ability to generate images, text, and other creative content on the device, without having to send data to the cloud.

  • Improved Google Assistant: The Google Assistant is now smarter and more helpful than ever before, with new features like the ability to translate languages in real time and answer questions about complex topics.

Conclusion

The Pixel event 2023 was a big success, with Google unveiling a number of exciting new products and features. The Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel Watch 2, and new AI features are all sure to be popular with consumers.

Here are some of my thoughts on the Pixel event:

  • New on-device generative AI features. This has the potential to revolutionize the way we use our smartphones and other devices.

  • Google's commitment to software support. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will receive seven years of Android OS and security updates, which is longer than any other Android phone on the market.

  • Overall, I think the Pixel event 2023 was a great success. Google showed that it's still one of the leading innovators in the tech industry.
